Location:  
Brief Description: Fossilized species of pine-tree found in the lignite valley of Vegora (Macedonia) dated in the Upper Miocene. Among the coniferous, the Penaceae and the deciduous Taxodiaceae (Sequoia) are dominant. In combination with the rich flora of angiosperms, it is characterized as mixed mesophytic forest of sub Mediterranean type.
